Nature Restoration

When you travel with Satopia, you embark on a transformative journey that has an impact on the environment. Our partnership with The European Nature Trust enables you to offset parts of your travel and flights, directly contributing to the restoration and planting of native trees along Scotland's Highland riverbanks.
This vital initiative combats the effects of climate change and is crucial in preserving the wild Atlantic salmon. By choosing to travel with us, you are not just embarking on a new life experience; you're actively participating in creating a sustainable legacy and fostering a healthier planet.

Restoring The Highlands Rivers

A Journey of Ecosystem Nature Restoration

Welcome to a journey where travel meets transformation. Join us in partnership with The European Nature Trust on an initiative to restore Scotland’s Highland rivers.

The purpose of this Nature Restoration project is to revive Scotland’s natural heritage by planting native trees along Highland riverbanks. Recent climate change and rising water temperatures have threatened 70% of Scotland’s waterways, endangering species like the Atlantic Salmon.

By enabling tree planting to create shade along river banks, your involvement can cool the rivers and save wild Atlantic salmon from local extinction.

Currently, 1ha (approx. 1600 trees) of native broadleaved woodland is anticipated to sequester 5.7 tonnes of CO2 per year (tCO2 ha-1) – Carbon sequestration over time is based on the “Quantifying the sustainable forestry carbon cycle” report by Forest Research, June 2022.
