We are Emma and Ahmed, the founders of Satopia. What started as a simple curiosity to explore how we could create experiences that reached beyond traditional ‘luxury’ and into a deeper connection to others… became a globally recognised adventure supported by a community of truely inspring partners and travellers.

We believe through travel can restore hope for a better future, and we bring that belief to every Satopia experience. Our small group itineraries focus on culinary, culture and connection to all corners of the world, celebrating meaningful moments in life.
People often ask what Satopia means.
The answer is simple, though not simplistic. Like everything we create, it was intentional.
Satopia is born from two energies coming together, two vibrations that hold both imagination and truth.
The first is Utopia. The word was coined by Sir Thomas More in the sixteenth century, drawn from the Greek ou-topos, meaning “no place”, and eu-topos, meaning “good place”. It describes an imagined realm, an ideal society, a vision of how life could be if shaped by our highest aspirations. Over time, utopia has come to represent the dream of something better than what exists, a space of possibility that lives first in the imagination before it takes form in reality. It is the courage to conceive of a world that does not yet exist.
The second is Sat. From the ancient Sanskrit mantra Sat Nam, a phrase rooted in spiritual tradition, Sat translates as “truth” and Nam as “name” or “identity”. Together, Sat Nam means “Truth is my identity” or “I am truth”. It is an invocation of authenticity, a return to one’s essential nature, a remembering of who we are beneath expectation and noise.
When these two vibrations meet, something powerful emerges. Utopia offers vision. Sat offers truth. Together they form Satopia, a world shaped not by illusion, but by authentic possibility. A place where imagination is anchored in integrity, and dreams are guided by inner knowing.
Satopia is the space where your truth and your potential converge. It is not a distant paradise. It is a lived reality, created from the alignment of who you are with what could be.

The foundation of Satopia began with organising travel experiences to visit schools and local communities in Bhaktapur and the Kathmandu Valley. Emma and Ahmed have an intense interest in human potential and mindset philosophy, rooted in concepts of freedom, self-expression, and a curiosity of life purpose. This profound interest influences every aspect of Satopia, especially in the crafting of our Hosted Experiences for our Community.

Growing up on a remote farm in New Zealand’s South Island, Emma’s childhood fascination with global cultures led her to live on three different continents. From these experiences and her successful entrepreneurial career, she founded Satopia – a fusion of her creativity, life journey, and desire to transform lives.
AHMED GOUDA
Chief Creative Officer & Co-Founder
Ahmed’s upbringing in Alexandria, Egypt, provided a rich backdrop of ancient cultures, languages, and arts. His studies in Industrial Engineering and Environmental Decision Making took him around the globe, working on sustainability projects for a multinational organisation.
