Travel for us has always been about the people we meet on the journey, and that journey extends to all areas of life. Travel is a part of the journey of life that opens our minds to awareness of how other people live, the rituals of different cultures, the energy of a space or place that is unfamiliar and the tastes, smells, and emotions that awaken all the senses.
The foundation of Satopia began with organising travel experiences to visit schools and local communities in Bhaktapur and the Kathmandu Valley. Emma and Ahmed have an intense interest in human potential and mindset philosophy, rooted in concepts of freedom, self-expression, and a curiosity of life purpose. This profound interest influences every aspect of Satopia, especially in the crafting of our Hosted Experiences for our Community.

Growing up on a remote farm in New Zealand’s South Island, Emma’s childhood fascination with global cultures led her to live on three different continents. From these experiences and her successful entrepreneurial career, she founded Satopia – a fusion of her creativity, life journey, and desire to transform lives.

Ahmed’s upbringing in Alexandria, Egypt, provided a rich backdrop of ancient cultures, languages, and arts. His studies in Industrial Engineering and Environmental Decision Making took him around the globe, working on sustainability projects for a multinational organisation.
