Banyan Tree Resort group have been concentrating their efforts on corals conservation for more than 20 years, with their coral recovery programmes and their first in-house marine lab in Vabbinfaru in 2004. The coral reef restoration programme currently supports four coral nurseries with up to 1,000 coral fragments grown in each nursery, for once reaching a suitable size, these corals are transplanted directly to the island reef.
