Cooking Class
Learn to cook a variety of different cuisines, from Thai and Japanese to Maldivian and Indian. Our chefs will personally guide you through the ingredients and preparations and once your cooking is finished you can take your seat and enjoy the fruits of your labour, accompanied by a glass of champagne.

We also offer private tuition on astronomy for those keen to learn more.
Full Moon Dinner
Once a month, over the lunar cycle, we craft a unique dining experience served on our private sandbank. In celebration of the full moon, we create a moon-shaped seating arrangement under the splendidly lit night sky. Please ask your Barefoot Butler about the dates of the next full moon.
Jungle Dinner
Experience nature in all its splendid glory with an intimate dinner in the middle of the jungle. We will pick you up from your villa and take you blindfolded to our secret jungle location. There, our chef will have created a culinary journey where each course tantalises one of your senses.
Soneva in Aqua Day Experience
The captain and crew will welcome you aboard Soneva in Aqua and set sail for snorkelling spots within the Baa Atoll, the only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in the Maldives. Enjoy a bespoke lunch menu on-board, prepared by your personal chef, then grab your fins, mask and snorkel for some underwater marine-life sightseeing.
Picnic with Guided Snorkelling
Pick your favourite unspoiled island and allow us to arrange for our resident Marine Biologist to escort you on a guided snorkelling experience through one of the best reefs in Baa Atoll. Following the underwater expedition, make your way back to dry land for a gourmet picnic, complete with a personal chef and waiter on hand.

On twelve evenings, Tim Raue will “perform”, as he calls it, for a small number of guests when he will prepare a 6-course menu at the island restaurant in Soneva, for eight people around his chef’s table — in this case — large granite counter.
Chef Raue will be hosting twelve dinner events at the resorts in the Maldives at Soneva Fushi and at Soneva Jani. The dinners, running in January 2022 are part of Soneva’s celebration of visiting experts and designed to offer unique guest experiences.

After falling in love with the different Asian cuisines during his travels across the continent, Tim Raue brought his spectacular fusion back to Berlin establishing his restaurant in 2010. He prides his message and dedication to serving dishes that release energy to the body instead of stress. His crafted menus are a blend of Japanese product perfection, Thai aromas, and Chinese culinary philosophy for nourishment.
Even before his Chef’s Table debut on Netflix, chef Raue has been an inspiring powerhouse in his kitchen and beyond. Now Tim Raue is one of Germany’s best-known chefs, and for a good reason, because the Berlin star-chef has redefined German top gastronomy and made a name for himself internationally. With uninterrupted sea views in all directions, Soneva Jani houses the central clubhouse, in the heart of the Overwater Villas. This dramatic three-story structure houses restaurants as well as The Den kids club, observatory, water sports and diving centre, spa, boutique gallery, library and main bar. The over-water cinema “Cinema Paradiso” is already showing numerous films on the island.
Ecological values are also conveyed on this island, so the establishment of an eco-centre is not surprising. The organic garden, tennis courts, water sports champa and the beach club are also part of Soneva’s concept.
The one square kilometer Kunfunadhoo Island in the Baa Atoll is best explored by bike. Because on the wide, jungle-like overgrown paths, you can cycle relaxed between the locations. At first glance, everything looks quite rustic, but at the latest at the second you can see the harmonious attention to the smallest detail.
