The legendary Orient Express has been reborn in Italy as the Orient Express La Dolce Vita, a luxurious sleeper train inspired by Italy’s La Dolce Vita era. Sumptuous carriages dressed with warm shades of terracotta, sensual curves and glossy lacquer take cues from 1960s Italy and pay homage to masters of Italian design, whilst life onboard embodies the Italian art of living with time to relax, enjoy the view, and linger over gourmet dishes and regional wines. Your experience with the Orient Express La Dolce Vita starts with an invitation to contact your Private Concierge will who help you create your own tailor-made dream voyage. Once at the station the experience will really begin, as a team of bellboys guides you onboard to start your journey in the Orient Express La Dolce Vita Lounge where you will be entertained with a ballet performance as you wait for departure. As you whizz between cities you can take in the view of the beautiful Italian countryside from your carriage or head to the Ristorante restaurant or Bar Car for Italian cuisine, afternoon tea, and an evening aperitivo.

This unforgettable journey will take you from The Eternal City of Rome to romantic Venice for an exclusive experience. The next day will be spent in charming Portofino, taking in views of the bay and lingering over lunch in one of the village’s landmark restaurants. Back onboard you’ll enjoy one last evening on the Orient Express La Dolce Vita as you journey back to Rome.
Journey of Splendor
Sit back and enjoy the view over a gourmet Italian lunch as you make your way from Rome to Venice for an exclusive afternoon filled with private visits to sites such as Saint Mark's Basilica. Through the night you’ll travel to Siena where you can immerse yourself in the city’s rich crafts, gastronomy and architecture before heading back onboard for the signature Le Grand Soir event filled with food, Italian wines, and music.
Land of Wonder
This one-night experience will transport you from the capital city of Rome to the village of Palena, where you can explore the surrounding countryside and waterfalls by shuttle or on horseback. That evening you’ll enjoy Orient Express La Dolce Vita’s signature evening dinner, Le Grand Soir, as you travel towards Matera. The next day explore the city’s famous Sassi di Matera, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before making the journey back to The Eternal City.
En Routes to Fine Wines
Board the Orient Express La Dolce Vita in Rome and enjoy leisurely Italian lunch as your train whisks you to the heart of the beautiful Tuscan countryside. You’ll arrive in the charming village of Torrenieri-Montalcino where you can discover a prestigious winery with 16 centuries of history. That evening, enjoy a night filled with food, music, and of course more excellent wines as you make your return back to Rome.
Wonders of the Tyrrhenian Sea
You can choose between Rome and Palermo as either your first or final stop for this one-way journey which will take you along the coast of Sicily. Those boarding in Rome will first travel to Maratea, known as the City of 44 Churches. The next day, enjoy breakfast in Messina before ending your trip in the Sicilian capital, Palermo. Alternatively, start your trip in Sicily and enjoy the picturesque voyage to The Eternal City.
Sicily Through its Myths
This two-night trip will take you from Palermo straight the Valley of the Temples for an afternoon exploring Agrigento’s Doric temple. The next day your train will whisk you to Taormina to enjoy a private experience discovering several cultural sites, including a vineyard on top of Mt. Etna. Your final evening on board will be spent enjoying Le Grand Soir with fantastic food and Italian wines before heading back to Palermo the next morning.
