Snoop was seeking guidance & advice while going through a transformation int his life. While in Jamaica, Snoop pursued his spiritual journey and a new style of music where he collaborated with a few famous reggae artists to create his Reincarnated album, which focuses on love and nonviolence.
Snoop found himself embraced by the Jamaican people and was positively moved by the Rastafarian culture, leading to his reincarnation as Snoop Lion, the same name that was bestowed upon Bob Marley “Nyabinghi”.
Engaging with the locals in Kingston, he visited Alpha Boys School, a school that has developed many reggae musicians along the years where he free-styled with the music class and showed respect to the musical heritage of the country.
Inspired to give back to the local community, while there he also launched a non-profit initiative: Mind Gardens. A project to establish sustainable, organic community gardens that would provide fresh fruits and vegetables to school-aged children in the under-served communities of Trench Town and Tivoli Gardens.
