Satopia Travel presents A cinematic travel experience In partnership with Arctic Bath
The Lodge

A floating spa on an Arctic river, frozen in and afloat by turns.

Arctic Bath floats on the Lule River near Harads in Swedish Lapland, a circular nest of logs holding an open-air cold bath and saunas, frozen into the ice in winter and afloat in the midnight-sun summer.

Water and land cabins ring it, spare and warm, and the whole place is built around the Nordic ritual of heat and cold, plus aurora hunts, husky sleds and the Arctic’s extremes of light.

The cold plunge in the middle of a frozen river is the point; the aurora is the bonus.

01 Accommodation

Water and land cabins, spare and warm.

Cabins float on the river or sit on the bank, Scandinavian-spare in timber and glass, with wood, warmth and big windows onto the water and the forest. The design is quiet so the Arctic is loud.

Held together they suit a family or party; the retreat can be taken exclusively for a private Arctic stay.

02 Culinary

Nordic cooking, and the river larder.

The kitchen cooks refined Lapland food, Arctic char, reindeer, cloudberries, forest herbs, in the restaurant over the water, hearty in winter and bright in the endless summer light.

A fireside or riverside dinner is the ritual; your designer arranges the private dining.

03 Experiences

Cold plunge, aurora, and the Arctic seasons.

The heart is the ritual: sauna, then a plunge into the open cold bath at the centre of the log nest, frozen river all around in winter. Beyond it lie aurora hunts, husky and snowmobile safaris, and in summer the midnight sun and the river.

Your designer builds each day to the season and the sky.

04 Wellness

A spa built for the ritual, and the sky for the rest.

The whole place is a spa: cold and hot baths, saunas, treatments and float therapy, all around the Nordic cycle of extremes.

The deeper restoration is the Arctic itself, the cold, the quiet and the light.

Satopia Insider

A few things worth knowing.

Drawn from recent guests.

Winter activities and cold plunges

This is a compact property where winter excursions like dog sledding, snowshoeing and guided sauna sessions form a key part of the stay. Proper cold-weather gear is provided and works well even when temperatures drop well below zero. The guest rooms are compact, particularly the water cabins, which naturally encourages spending more time in the main building.

The sauna and cold plunge routine is the highlight

Guests consistently remember the sauna, outdoor spa and cold plunge over the frozen river as the defining experience, often accompanied by a hot tub session. Floor-to-ceiling windows mean northern lights viewing is possible from the warmth of your room, so there is no need to brave the cold to catch them. Spending the evening taking in the views provides a quiet way to appreciate the surrounding landscape.

Extend your stay

Want to stay a little longer?
We'll plan that too.

Lapland pairs with the wider north. A few we would join to the retreat, each arranged as one seamless experience.
