As a landmark in French history, the Domaine des Étangs is a fabulous fairy-tale hotel and a former château fit for royalty, complete with towers, surrounded by lakes, meadows and mills. The estate grounds offer a magical setting between the forest and the lakes, surrounded by a landscape of waterways and woodlands, and transformed into a fabulous playground of marvels.
The hotel is surrounded by seven lakes and a private art collection to complement the estate’s gallery, spread across the sprawling 2,500 acres in the rolling, rural heart of southwest France. You can choose your accommodation between the 13th-century château that has been tastefully restored, or beautifully refurbished farmhouse cottages set within individual buildings dotted around the grounds, perfect for a family or friends.

of La Laiterie
Located on each side of La Laiterie, two mezzanines host two spaces in which to read, learn or work. They interact over the central exhibition space, facing and complementing one another. On the left, the library of the Past, housing works predating 1920 and, on the right, the library of the Future, housing books from 1920 onwards.

In the exhibitions showcased at La Laiterie, in the site-specific Art in the park, in the buildings, as well as in the primary Creation, Nature. A place of ancestral roots, the Domaine des Etangs highlights the protection of and love for the environment.
The Domaine invites one to travel, to explore between the earth and the sky, the beauty that surrounds them, between leaves and clouds, to where the outside world affects and transforms our inner world.

The Domaine Of Children
The Domaine is not a preserve only for adults. It has been designed for families, to welcome the laughter and games of childhood while creating remarkable memories. Exploring the sky, educational workshops, discovering remote lands and the richness of the surrounding nature, the Domaine des Etangs is also the Domaine of Children.
The children’s Play area is located between the château and the vegetable garden. This area boasts 3 inground trampolines, a 15-metre zipline, a spider web climber, a wooden hut with no slide, another with a slide, a ping-pong table, a merry-go-round, 2 frames with spinner swings, a frame with 2 flat swings, a frame with a bucket swing, a giant chess board, a “life-size” draughts board and a “rabbit” climbing totem.
