Eddie has performed his stand up comedy in more than 50 countries, in 4 languages and aims to perform the first gig on the moon!
Eddie relishes challenges and in 2016 he ran 27 marathons in 27 days in South Africa for “Sport Relief”. The number 27 is a tribute to the many years Nelson Mandela spent in prison for his actions against apartheid before becoming the first black president of South Africa.
With a route in the footsteps of Mandela’s life, the journey starts from his birthplace of Mvezo, through the Eastern Cape to the school and university he attended, then on to Cape Town and Robben Island where he was imprisoned and completing the gruelling 11,000 km challenge run at the statue of Mandela in front of the Union Building in Pretoria.
Eddie has raised more than £1.35m for charity and with no prior running experience and little training. He describes his style as a slow endurance runner, persuaded by immense mental strength, inspired by Mandela and not having limiting beliefs.
This is an inspirational journey across the beautiful landscapes of southern Africa, driven by determination and an incredible mind.
